How use the Media to get free publicity – DIY PR

Do it yourself PR (Public Relations)  – What a great idea!

We have asked Kate to put together a full days programme on her very popular topic to give you an in depth understanding of the media, how it works and more importantly how it can work for you and your business.

If any of you seriously want to get more business, increase your profile and make potential customers aware of what you do, then you need to book on this programme now.  Even if you are only thinking about PR or how to buy it as you don’t want to do it yourself this session is essential in helping you select the right agency.

What it’s all about?

The course covers the value of PR and how it fits into the marketing mix; how the local and regional media work, with reference to trade, specialist and national media; ways of getting into the media; how to write a press release (with the opportunity to practise); how to organise a press event; the value of photographs, and, if you decide not to do it yourself, how to choose a PR agency.

The Benefits

It is extremely useful for all businesses, particularly in these times when there is pressure on budgets and business owners may be tempted to cut the marketing spend. Doing you own PR is a cost effective – or even free – way to raise profile, enhance reputation and bring in more customers.

Participants who have attended such events in the past have often found tangible results, with appearances in the media leading to increased customers and sales.

For example a software manufacturer from Barnsley had several orders after their press release featured  prominently in a local newspaper;

a dental surgery from Harrogate reported a 42% increase in new patient activity after featuring in their local press,

and a personal trainer from Sheffield had increased bookings after appearing in both the local and national media.
